Crewfinder Cookie Policy

1. Necessary cookies

Necessary cookies support login sessions, authentication security, account continuity and other core Crewfinder operation. These cookies are not controlled by the optional analytics choice because the platform may not function correctly without them.

Crewfinder also stores one narrowly scoped preference cookie named crewfinder_cookie_preferences. It contains only a consent version and whether analytics was accepted or declined. It does not contain a user, account or profile identifier.

2. Optional analytics cookies

If a visitor accepts analytics, Crewfinder may load Google Analytics 4 on approved public pages of crewfinder.co.za. The purpose is to understand broad public-page usage and improve the public Crewfinder experience.

Phase one uses normalized page categories. Crewfinder does not send query strings, search text, account IDs, authentication user IDs, profile IDs, names, email addresses or private-route identifiers. Google Analytics is not loaded in development or review environments, or on admin pages, authenticated workspaces, billing routes, callbacks, calendars or documents.

Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga and names beginning with _ga_ after consent. Exact expiry and analytics-data retention depend on the configured GA4 property and Google's service behaviour. Crewfinder intends to configure a limited retention period appropriate to this phase.

3. Consent and withdrawal

Google Analytics remains off before a choice is made and after analytics is declined. Accept and decline choices are both available in the cookie notice.

The permanent Cookie preferences control can be used to change the choice later. Withdrawing consent records a declined choice, tells an already loaded Google tag that analytics storage is denied, attempts to remove accessible Crewfinder-domain Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page without the Google Analytics loader.

Browser security or cookie-domain rules may prevent Crewfinder from deleting every cookie previously created by another service. Users can also remove cookies through browser settings.

4. Phase-one limits

Crewfinder does not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing, Google Signals, Google Ads, ecommerce events, custom events, user IDs or account/profile dimensions in phase one.

5. Analytics provider

Google provides the optional analytics service and processes analytics information under its own service terms and privacy controls. Google Analytics is not described as anonymous because browser, device, network and cookie information may still be processed when consent has been granted.
